Program: Excellence in Aviation

Join us for an enlightening and stimulating look at one of the finest airports in America. Just recently our own Ted Stevens International Airport was awarded the “2007 Air Cargo Airport Award of Excellence” for U. S. airports handling a million or more tons of freight. The airport also has the distinction of being the #1 Airport in the U.S. for landed weight of cargo aircraft; #1 Airport for excellent service, '05 & '07; and the #3 Airport in the world for cargo throughput.

We will be having a light dinner service (at a minimal charge), and in addition to the regular program, Mr. Wilson has arranged for a bus tour of the airport. The tour will highlight the development work on-going, plus a look at future development. We will also get to hear about a couple of inventions by airport employees to improve service and efficiency. This will be a wonderful opportunity to really see what’s happening at a major economic engine here in Anchorage, and in Alaska. Don’t miss this meeting.

Jeff is a fun presenter using real-life examples of Records Management to engage his audiences

Presentation: Records and Information Compliance – Choices with Costs

This presentation explores today’s most current industry standards and legal requirements for the creation, use, preservation and destruction of paper and electronic records. Using the idea that “no business or government entity is exempt from the legal requirements of record keeping”, Jeff reviews what’s required and how-to respond to today’s critical records program audits and information subpoenas in a discovery process. Costs will be reviewed for attaining compliance versus the costs associated with non-compliance and discoveries. Concepts will range from audit-worthy Records Retention Management to Meta Data management on computing infrastructures. Participants are encouraged to question and engage Jeff as Jeff will absolutely involve the audience in developing an understanding of the good, the bad, and the really icky parts of Information Compliance.

Join us for this wonderful evening. We will have a tour of the Alaska Wild Berry Facility as well as the new Wild Berry Theater

“60 Years of Success
The Rich Tradition behind Alaska Wild Berry Products”
Guest Speaker: Ann Reddig, Facilities Manager, Wild Berry Theater
Every summer since 1946, children and adults in Alaska have had a favorite summer activity - picking wild berries for Alaska Wild Berry Products. We always welcomed their gatherings with open arms to make the finest wild berry jams and jellies in Alaska.

That great tradition continues today, 60 years later. Our berries now come from all corners of the state, our goal remains the same - Bring the taste of wild Alaskan berries to as many people as possible. These "Wild Berry Products" started in 1946 with just a few items and have since expanded to 19 jams and jellies, plus 6 syrups and sauces.

In 1987, we took those same jellies and created our Chocolate Covered Wild Berry Jelly Centers, the most unique candy available in Alaska.
