February The Alaska Section will hold its February Meeting on Thursday, February 17 at the the BP Energy Center at 5:30 PM. Again we are going to have something to eat and drink while we listen to Steve Grabacki of Graystar Seafood, LTD. Steve is going to discuss the Alaska Quality Seafood Program which is loosely based upon ISO 9000 and deals with seafood quality assurance. I know that we are all interested in knowing how that halibut, salmon, haddock, or crab is handled from the harvesters through the processors to the retailers so that we are assured of fresh, eatable fish when it hits our tables. We are also going to be disussing and enrolling people for the twelve (12) hour Plan, Do, Check, Act Training that is scheduled to start on February the 24th and continue on March 3rd, 10th, and 17th. The four, three (3) hour training sessions will be held at the BP Building and will be taught by Rod Reinchuck of the previously successful Green Belt and Balanced Scorecard training classes. If you can make this meeting and what to participate in the food and refreshments, please let Bob Bowlus know no later than noon on Tuesday, 2/15 so that he will have ample time to place our food order. We are looking forward to seeing as many of you as we can so please send Bob an email (robert.bowlus@veco.com) saying you will be there. Here is the agenda for the meeting and a copy of the Plan-DO-Check-Act Training Flyer. We expect a lot of people are going to attend this training and it will be first come first serve for enrollment. SO, AT THESE PRICES, SIGN UP EARLY.
